Is This the Smartest Small Space Ever? Probably

It’s called the Jewel house and we can see why; there’s just so much to love about this little Australian space. On the outside, it’s an unassuming Victorian, but inside it’s been transformed into this modern masterpiece full of super smart tricks to make the most of the small space (it’s under 200 square meters or about 650 square feet). Want to take a closer look?

The floating staircase not only provides a dramatic centerpiece that highlights the soaring ceiling, it simultaneously serves as a room divider that lets light flow through. And just look at those crave-worthy modern built-ins.

The lofted sleeping area gets an extra dose of light from this “window” that appears to have been made by removing every other brick to (almost) keep the original look on the outside, but brighten up the top floor. Amazing!

The glassed-in back wall further opens up the one room and helps with visual flow. And it looks like easy access to the backyard gives the residents a great indoor/outdoor lifestyle.
